The point is look up the rules to find if there are moves you are not aware of just now.

The system is normally foolproof in realizing checkmate situations.

Chances are your opponent won't see this because he has never posted in the form before and neither have you until this situation. I mean the game is basically lost for Black and you have a star by your name you have many other games just let him run out of time.

Since black has resigned, we can explain. BY delivering the check with the knight's P, black can take it en passant. Thus, it is not checkmate. The check should have been delivered with the Rooks P.
