The longest games are "usually the most interesting"?? Where's the connection? If you have a book of games, do you scan the contents and look for the one with the most moves? I usually play the shortest ones first. In fact there are many collections of short games. I don't recall a collection of long games. If it's on endgames (like Capablanca"s best) the writer usually gives you a diagram or a quick run through of the beginning so you don't get bored to death before the conclusion.

I know you would get bored looking at any of my games long or short.
