The Hammerschlag Prevails

Here is a game where I played the Hammerschlag against an expert and almost won.

I could have probably continued playing in the end instead of settling for the perpetual, but like I said above, I was low on time and didn't want to risk it.

That has to be the best opening ever!

You should start playing that in all your Rhp games as white so they can suffer that wrath of the Hammerschlag!

for some reason... I really want to play against it.

1.f3? e5 2.Kf2? Nf6 is what I'd play. 😏

Doesn't BC5+ as Blacks 2nd move after 1. e5 give black the initiative?

The Hammerschlag does have one major advantage tho...

when all the pieces are traded... whites king is more active 😲

there was a tournament for this...it failed so theyre going to do it again i think...

So...? There are many openings that give away the center.

At the risk of sounding even more stupid than usual, can someone suggest what 1.f3 then 2.Kf2 actually achieves from a strategic point of view?

What is the reasoning behind the opening? - after 1...d5, 2...e5 then usual ...Nf6, ...Nc6 etc it looks pretty terrible.
