In the 1300+ tournament there are two women :caissad4 and jenamh, the rest are guys.
I'd say that there are 1 or 2 gals hidden in the tournament.........

What difference does it make how many guys entered the tournament and using that number to point out a faillure to Arrakis? I think it was a nice initiative which seemingly is not all that it could have been. A total faillure, hard to tell. Arrakis his fault if so, I don't think so.

I would hope that something be directed to them. They are the ones who joined early "to make their point", and then women saw the guys in and said "what's the point then?", and the other guys saw that guys had entered and said "woooo, game on!" and entered themselves.
Regardless if they were only "making a point" and "always meant to withdraw", the fact that they DID enter is what ruined this tournament.
They severely underestimated the consequences of their actions (or maybe not). This is what maturity brings to an individual... the idea that their actions do have consequences, often unforseen, and that regardless if they care about those consequences or not, the consequences are still their responsibility.
