Only Chess

1 edit

To solve this 3(b) problem once and for all, I have invented a
neuro-mechanical device that sits on your head while you're playing here.
It makes you look kinda stupid, but we chess players are used to that,
right?

So, anyway, it captures and interprets your brainwaves as you think
about your next move. It checks for these eventualities:

1) Your move wasn't preceded by any thought what so ever (3rd party)
2) Your move was preceded by one thought, but it had favourable
implications that you had not fully understood
3) Your move was the result of moves you've seen previously in other
games and must therefore be deemed illegal as they're not actually the
move you'd make if you used that inferior brain of yours

If any of the three are true, you're banned from this site with no hope to
return. You cannot simply create a new account as the neuro-mechanical
device mentioned will recognise you, and playing without one will be
in violation of the updated TOS.

You will soon be able to buy them at the RHP store for the small fee of
USD 99.99. 🙂

P.S! If you find it especially hard to conjure up original thoughts, you
may instead purchase the lightweight version of this tool. We call it the
helmet, and what happens when you can't think up a move yourself is
that it will slap you across the face, hard, a preset number of times
(depending on your offense) instead of banning you from the site. Also,
the opponent will see this message in xer messagebox: "Your opponent
was unable to conceive a move of his own and has therefore received X
number of facial hits using the cheekpad." (Kinky people may get the
idea of reconstructing the helmet so that the pad rests above one of
their arsecheeks instead, but measures has been taken to prevent that.)

I use babas for my varaitions....

though helpful, I dont consider it an "adavantage" for it to disallow illegal moves --- but if it is, then I'm cheating, and so is most of RHP

As long as you don't use the engines you are fine. I use winboard, and Real Men use Chesspad.

Not to question your statement but we have had a member of the Game Mod team state in this thread that he views using a program that doesn't allow for illegal moves as cheating.

If you aren't using an engine for your moves or "error-checking" you'll be ok.

What is the color of this device?

By this logic I am cheating if I use Chessbase. Or Chesspad. Or Winboard.

So you are saying what? Who is this Game mod? Anyway they need to clarify this or fail.

Wait a moment - it's possible at RHP to send an illegal move? How is this handled - an immediate forfeit?

No it is not. It is however possible to input an illegal move in the ANALYSIS board and continue analyzing from that illegal position. If you enter an illegal move into the main board and press submit you will be taken back to the game screen with pink (I think) boxes around your illegal move.

Ok thanks. Yeah, I've noticed that quirk in the analysis board, it can be misleading if you're not careful. It's a lot easier to find winning lines when you mistakenly move twice. :>
