Morphy

True his opposition may have been weak, but he created so many beautiful games. If anyone is interested in a good evaluation of Morphy I suggest reading the book "paul morphy: a modern perspective". Excellent annotations and good overview of Morphy's style.

Alexander Alekhine--
I first heard the name as I studied his opening. I like his history (drunken yet victorious) and I love how he could frustarte his oponents (stretching out his own wins just so that he could keep playing the game).

I like Tal's games. A bit mad, but the genius is clear to see.

Additionally, I think what Kasparov& Fischer did in raising the profile of chess makes them highly admirable. As does the fact that they are arguably the greatest players of all time.

In my opinion, he was the best "pound-for-pound" chess player ever. He stomped Bogo when he was drunk, and Euwe too I beleive. I heard somewhere that he actually stood and urinated beside the chess board during one of their games! His vices (though dangerous and dark), are also comic and endearing. He reminds me of "Arthur on the Rocks" with chess. I bet he had a wonderful sense of humour. Great parties!

As for as I know Alekhine did what he did to survive in nazi held areas. I do not believe Alekhine was a nazi. All Alekhine really cared about was chess and the World Chess Title.

I can't agree. Bronstein, for example, was nearly his equal, but with his slight stature surely weighed a good deal less.
