This was a very crystal clear rook sacrifice for a position. I hope people like it. I'm rather proud of this little gem. My opponent just resigned today. Of course his rating wasn't that high, but I think the game has a classical beauty to it, and a tinge of Tal somewhere I feel. Only, Tal's sacrifices were often much deeper. 🙂 Game 1770026

I did think the game showed exactly how the position - looking very innocent at first - could develop if proper psychic force was used. I think the rook sac was the only way in MY game.

At that point you had a won game so it doesn't really matter. However, your opponent clearly doesn't understand his opening. In almost all variations of the sicillain blacks dream is to play d5 with equality (or even an advantage). With Nxf6 you gift wrapped this and by having your bishop on c4 he can play it with tempo! Instead, he moves his knight away from the kingside (where you are building up your forces) then prceeds to play e5 (which doesn't seem to improve his position at all).
In essense, I see a game with one person significantly stronger than the other (200-300 points perhaps?) and the game bearing that out.
