LOL yeah. You should be able to find the part two of the vid. It's amazing that Kasparov was able to find a move a computer couldn't! I don't care if it's an older version of Rybka.

Fritz 5.32 takes 20 seconds. What version of Rybka failed? Rybka 2.3.2a takes about 1 second.

the guy said it hadn't find it at depth 12. on a slow computer, maybe a laptop, that might take a while. my rybka 2.2 finds Nf6+ at 14 plies.

a good example on how pruning algorithms ignore moves. for a human Nf6+ is probably one of first ones to look, and I certainly would've played it without batting an eye in blitz. the only thing I'm surprised about it is that it's not a checkmate right there.

I believe they played eight games today, Karpov won the first one, the second one was a draw, then Kasparov won five in a row, and the last one ended in a draw again. (correct me if I am wrong)

Although marred by to many short draws, this match featured some excellent chess played by two of the best of all time. It's a pity they don't like each other.😏

Karpov probably likes Kasparov a lot more than he likes Korchnoi.

i think they should play longer games.

It's ridiculous trying to catch up with them - by the time there's an active link, the game is over. As a new player, I find these games surprisingly unsatisfying. πŸ™
