Many lines from the French, Caro Khan, c3 Sicilian. Even the Scandinavian
can adopt the same pawn structure.

No opening can claim the right to a tactical idea.
Oh and Rook lifts are seen in Greco's games from the 1600's.

Edit: Yep, black can try to escape with Rfd8 but he can't get away fast enough. Not as instant a death as the game but still just as dead.

Thats want I want to play Re1 but those !! are putting me off.

It looks too slow. You are trying to trick me into losing.

I know me PR. OTB With no perpetual I'd play Re1 but with
the perpetual sitting there. I would take it.

I was looking at Re1 BEFORE playing Rg5+.
After Rg5+ it looked too slow.
(I never even considered it...I'm still smelling a trick)
Ah well.....at least I know how to post fens and PGN games. 🙂
