It seams there is a lot of support for the use of databases while playing, and the replies seem to a bit angry. Aren’t people allowed to have opinions. I was unaware some (not all) of my opponents were using databases while playing. Good point. Not exactly right
Why use the data if it gives no advantage, look at all the false ratings. Be honest. Not everyone uses databases.

Not sure if you were aware of this, but the use of books has ALWAYS been allowed in Correspondence chess, even before the invention of the internet.
