Can someone update the points for me please. I don't have time right now.
8. b3
8. c5
8. Qc2
Move I chose:
8. c5
Analysis: Cuts off the a2-g8 diagonal for black's dark-squared bishop. Additionally, it cuts off any potential squares for black's d7 knight; with little room to move the minor pieces his development is hindered. I'm thinking this increase in space for white + lead in development should help acquire and maintain the initiative.
Normally I'd not consider such early pawn pushes like this, but in this case I don't consider it a loss of tempo. My second choice would have been 8. Qc2.
Moves I considered for black:
8...Qc7
8...b6
Move I chose:
8...Qc7
Analysis: Black is looking cramped. I wanted to look for ways to further develop the pieces, and to develop those pieces that gain as much space as possible. 8...b6 achieves this with an anticipated 9...Bb7, but it doesn't directly influence any of white's space. I think 8...Qc7 is the only move that attempts to regain some of the influence for black.
The analysis took me about 3 minutes.

As for Fritz, no. Pretend this is a real OTB game. If you check with fritz then you might ideas about the next moves which would be cheating. Once the game is over check with fritz if you want but for now all you got is just your brain. No outside help, books, dbs, nothing!

So what do you think about this position?
I'm closing voting very soon. 15 min. So better hurry up if you want to guess.
Originally posted by RahimKQc2 for white giving him a doubling on the diagonal or I think that they call it a battery threatening the pawn if the knight decides to leave its post the game might end pretty quickly. And I chose Qc7 for black.

9.Nxc4 Nd5
Comments: Nxc4 so the bishop and queen can remain on the strong diagonal and the Knight can add further support to e5 and allows the bishop on c1 more room to develop in the future.
9...Nd5 with the plan of placing the other knight on f6. If 10.e4 then Nb4 forking the bishop and queen and one of them has to come of the board.
2 minutes.

but why would we lose a point for not guessing a wrong move.
Next time I won't add the ? etc... then they will be no problems 🙂
