Nxd4 Nc6

Bxd4? or Qxd4?? would take away the battery that white has made on the b1-h7 diagonal plus Qxd4 would expose the queen. Nc6 because I want a knight on d5 and f6 but Nd5 allows Bxh7+ followed by e4. took me four minutes

Nb6 you mean and those are Bxc4 and Qxc4.

I just remember my move is wrong, I didn't look at it properly. Nd5 Bxh7+ ... O wells, -1 point for me.

thanx I guess I was one square to the left I wasn't looking at the board though I was trying to do it in my head.

My prediction is now 9.Nxc4 h6. (2mins)

9.Nxc4 because white doesn't want to disrupt the powerful B/Q battery by recapturing or moving away either piece. and 9...h6 to prevent 10.Ng5 again assaulting the vulnerable h7 square.

9 Nxc4 Nb6 offering to trade a knight and release a bit of the pressure from a position that is a little cramped. Had to rush this, so not even sure it is a good idea, we'll see.

9. Nxc4, Qc7 - 5 minutes

The alternatives, Qxc4 or Bxc4 makes little sense. White covers the e5 and frees the c1-bishop. Black doesn't really want to play b5. Black prepares c5 or e5 breaks.

6. Bd3 Be7 7. O-O O-O 8. Qc2 dxc4 $2 *

That $2 is suppose to be a ?

The annotator of the game put the ? not me. It might not be the best move but with guess the move if your wrong your wrong so we all lose 1 point for sure 🙁
All without cheating...honest!
not sure how long. somewhere between 10-20min (incuding typing)

White ... Nxc4 no question.

Black...

I'm not sure, I can't see a way to secure e5.

at first I considered the line:-

b5 (trying to free the c8 bish with tempo) Ne5 h6 (Nxe5? dxe5 Nd5 Bxh7+ Kh8)

but personally I don't like any of that because white is better (me thinks)

But, seeing as I must guess -- I'm going to say;

Nb6 Nce5 Nbd5...

though I must admit, I have little faith or confidence with it.

c5 what a great move! Did anyone mention this. I should start looking at these positions seriously instead of just making dumb guess like my last one, geez!

7min (including typing)

White... Nce5 --is going to be my choice, even though I do quite like e4?!

Black... cxd4 --It just seems natural (taking toward the centre)

e4 for white and e5 for black.

10. e4 cxd4

10.e4 to move against the black knight defending h7, and to open up a diagonal for white's undeveleped bishop. 10...cxd4 to force white's knight to recature there and to allow c5 for a black knight...(3 mins).

haha, and I thought I was crazy for even considering e4.

Well I knew c5 was coming.. I just thought it had to be prepared! =)
But now, I really can't find why this isn't plainly equalizing on the spot.. Hmm.. 10. dxc5 Nxc4 gives white nothing I think, white must keep his pawn at d4. I'm really unsure about this position. I think white might go for an IQP set-up with Re1 and later Nce5.. Perhaps even Bd2, although that wastes a tempo if ..cxd4. So,

10. Re1, cxd4 - 8 minutes

10. e4 cxd 5 minutes

Advancing the e-pawn gives the problem child on c1 some scope for development.
