I just wanted to vindicate myself. I may not be a strong player but I didn't miss that move. Ron and I are friends and he was having some mouse issues due to sciatica and some other things. Anyway, while playing around on the board, he accidentally submitted the 19..Rxf7 move, thus giving me the game. I offered to pick up the game from before that move by starting an unrated set piece game. If he managed to pull out the game in our unrated replay, I would resign the rated game which is what happened. I never thought anyone would actually look at it. Oops. So, while my play may not be pretty, I'm not actually blind.
Here's the replay game...not that it's worth looking at, but so that you can see that it's actually there.
Game 6255248
Cheers.

I believe you 100% now.
The only thing that I can't believe is that you let him have a second chance. Even if you are close friends, it's just his bad luck for submitting the move. You didn't do anything to cause it and should have been able to take the win guilt free.
After all, he had to put the move in AND click submit just for you to get it.

I'm not playing that much, so I tell myself to learn and to enjoy the games. In a way, I wanted to see if I could still beat him if he made the right move - I lost that gambit, but in the end I felt good about myself, and when you're at my level, what's a few rating points.

I also get irked by some of the rating points lust that has people doing annoying things just to get wins. I want to avoid that. If I'm fighting tooth and nail just to add a few rating points to a paltry rating, I think that's pretty lame. I actually don't see too much of that here - it was more of the behaviour I experienced on Yahoo type blitz sites. But anyway, it shaped me. I just want to enjoy the game and get better. Claiming the win, was totally fair and totally within my rights, but I wanted to see if I could beat Ron from a losing position, and claiming the win felt like kicking a man when he's down.
