I just read this book cover to cover (it's a red hardcover). Loved it!! I've read a few other bio books about the 1972 "match of the century," but this one is by far the most insightful/complete an account. I truly recommend it!

After reading this I couldn't help but feel that Bobby Fischer is either somewhat autistic or has simply been socially stunted in growth. He acted like a spoiled 8-year-old genius banging his fists on the table through the whole match, trying to get his way. The portrait is accurate as far as I can tell and he comes off as a sad tragic character.

Has anyone read this book??

Read most of it in bookstore. I had read almost everything before so it was just a rehash for me. apparently anything with Fischer's name on it will sell. It's a story that has been told many times before.

the title of the book is "Bobby Fischer Goes to War" (the thread title).

the "war" it's referring to is a symbolic war between the Soviets and the Capitalists (America)...the cold war.
