Like most stalemates. Where do you suggest the black king should go?

Yeah, but that's not my problem. He put himself in that situation, I can still move and eventually put him in check.

I thought a stalemate was when neither side had any other options...

The other player can't move until the other player does.

Stalemate is when a king is NOT in check, and all moves would put him in check.

You can't move into check, you must move... game over, stalemate.

It's a draw.

Rather than marching the pawn down alone, the knight would have been key in keeping Black from forcing a stalemate.

After this position, White can easily gain a queen and force mate down the road... there is still a chance to stalemate, watch out for it.

Man you hosed that ending, you had a won game. Too bad you don't know the rules.

It was a draw as soon as you played 49. h7. 49. Ng5 would have been sufficient to win.

Understanding how to win this sort of ending is fundamental to your chess improvement.

Learn how opposition works to avoid this sort of draw with black to move.

The key here is to realize that in rook-pawn endgames (King & Pawn vs. King) if your opponent knows what he is doing the game is drawn because his king can't be forced out of the corner. Understanding this, it becomes immediately clear that the knight must be brought in to force the king out of the corner before advancing the pawn to the seventh rank.

It seems so obvious now, after the fact...

Lack of knowledge bit me in the $@#%.

Thanks again.
