Take his recent game against Kramnik in London for ...[text shortened]... relevant, this kid is going to beat the winner and hog the limelight for a decade at least!
I'll have to ask, what is the thing with spelling the name as Carlson instead of Carlsen? Is it how it's spelled in Norwegian or any other language?

it's carlsen. nothing more to it. if he was swedish or finnish he might be carlson or karlson or even karlsson. but norwegian 'son's of carl' are carlsens. unless they're swedish immigrants, which is also the case of american carlsons.

Are you guys saying Carlsen is or was a student of Kas? Or just analyzes his games because Kas is so strong?

you know, he's been over 2770 since July 2008. Wasn't a long way from there. Yeah, I know it's much more on that level but still. Not a long way for a genuine genius.

Carlsen is one of the bright spots in modern day play IMO.

If we are being pedantic it's Harry Weinstein.

In the game in question, Magnus (see how I avoided the surname trap)
will not looking at computer evaluations as they can be misleading
if there are no tactics in the position.

This ability to create problems for your opponent even in the most tepid
looking positions is the sign of a good chess player.

He a proven tournament player. Match play, especially a World Title Match
is a different ball game. No reason to think he will stumble here but if he has
a weakness then a match v Anand or Kramnik will expose it.

Kasparov's experience in this field will benefit him greatly when the time comes...
    ....and it will.
