I doubt the move by move engine players are killing this site. The real ones you have to worry about are the ones that use it only once or twice a game.
If you are good enough to make 48 moves correctly you are surely good enough to make 50 moves and if you do need to use an engine for 2 moves it is unlikely you going to get the remaining 48 correct.

I think any one using an engine for just 2 moves will make blunders in the rest of the game and lose and unless it is switched on all the time they won't even know which 2 moves to use it for.

hi there,

I'm a new subscriber and I have to add my words to all the players who are living with the cheating fear.

I think it kills the game but more than that it kill this site. I'm a novice player just starting from the bottom so I'm not wasting too much time with cheating players (it seems they are caught when they reach over 2000 rating) but I'm do ...[text shortened]... anned or something like that.

Sorry for my poor english.

Wish the best,

Marco.
hey Marco...
my best advice is this:
acknowledge the fact that ppl will cheat...
for whatever reasons, they will cheat...
maybe its human nature... i really dont get why ud cheat on this site, uve got nothing to gain...
anyway, quit moanin about it and enjoy the site, who cares if someone cheated u?
just look at the guy and say: "wow, that guy sucked so much he had to use a computer to beat me"

I disagree Gate, wou;dn't they be more likely to match up with engine use? They study so many lines, that usually they would know the best ones for them to play.
Opening lines are not included in match-up analysis.

The chances of remembering an engine's response in any arbitrary position beyond the opening phase is infinitely small.

The best moves are not necessarily engine moves.

Players banned from RHP would put Grandmasters to shame in their ability to "find" those engine moves.

so far ive had alot of fun playing chess on this site, although i play very few rated games, i tend to run across alot of people that wont play without a game being rated, or deleting out my game and challenging me as a rated game.
either way i play cause i enjoy it not cause of a rating, anyone ever intrested in playing look me up 🙂

How about a little less time in the forum and a little more time moving in our game 😴

White has 13 days 23 hours and 31 minutes to move. (plus timebank)

I think that this type of chess is the hardest to police against cheating. I joined this site originally to practice openings and chess in general in a slow and thoughtful manner.

If I am playing against a computer or a cyborg 50% computer then I still get what I was after when I joined. I'd rather win everygame but the bottom line is that it's in my hands to make the correct moves and the rest will come out in the wash.

There are many more clean players here than cheaters. But the sad fact is that cheaters do not get caught most of the time. Or, by the time they are caught they have a 2300 rating and the damage is done.

Hypocrite! You are moving slower than me.

I don't need to spend time yet! I am beating you!
