@mike69 saidI believe AI will become more intelligent than any chess programs we have out today, down the road and it may not be that far off. As Ponderable said how would one know if AI were being used??? The tech world is moving fast, eventually AI will become smarter than humans, that is a scary thought right there!
I don’t think you cheat, but do think it’s an issue here with egos and in the name of getting better combined with the slow games.

@Very-Rusty saidPersonally I have never used or seen a chess engine so I don’t have a clue how they will develop in the future?

I haven't use one either, but have played against them. I think now with AI they will get smarter than any chess engine as they learn as they are going. Lets hope they never take over or we will all be in trouble, perhaps not us personally but our Children and Grand Children and Great Grand Children. I don't know that I would enjoy growing up in todays world.

I don't know about chess, but I'm an attorney who uses Westlaw AI for legal research, and at this point it's still just a helpful starting point - and not even that if you don't ask the question in a very specific way. If the legal research AI is any indication, it's going to be a long time before AI takes over the planet.
@Kunsoo saidSo I guess we have a few years until world domination๐. With technology doubling so fast in comparison to the industrial age it may not be as far off as we think?

LOL....I know I am smarter than fridge as the fridge cannot play chess YET!!!!! ๐
I believe all people are smarter than a fridge no matter who they are!
With the advancement in technology and speed it moves AI could eventually take over many Jobs is my opinion.

@Kunsoo saidI agree. In my psychology studies on the internet, I do manage to run into AI synopses a lot, and they usually are of limited help at best. Perhaps their ineptitude in the subject of the human mind is only to be expected, I, too, think that if this is the best they can do, then the downfall of society at their hands is quite some time in the future, from what I've seen so far.
