great topic & a super training aid for me to ck on the various linked games.
For me; promoting a pawn (especially having to do this) is un-fun chess & much preferred is when all rooks & queens are in play ~ 20 moves or less w/ a smothered mate, thats is the best ...
Usually tho im getting that thumping, not giving it!
Heres a recent gr8t game, & i could still lose it but if i did, it would be even better ... : }

5 minute blitz game.

I am not sure if it was sound but waving a queen in front of someones nose is always fun. I suspect that had he ignored the queen on move 8 and taken the knight that was hanging it would have resulted in a strong and annoying but in the end ineffective attack from my pieces.

Ha had to bump this again, cuz its so dang good : }
B cool if the site used only < 20 games on the home page rather than however they select the ckm8tes typically displayed ... & anyone know what that criteria actually is?

As far as I know it's a random selection of recently finished games. I don't think there are any criteria.

Here is a game I played against a team composed of Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian, and Hikaru Nakamura. I had 1 minute on my clock and they were allowed unlimited time. I gave them two-rook odds. They still insisted I play blindfolded, use only one arm, and have the black pieces just so they could have a fighting chance. I agreed.

White: Super GM Team
Black: Me, blindfolded with one arm tied behind my back

1. g4 (they must've thought I was too booked up on the QGD and Sicilian)
1...e6
2. f4 (signaling that they were in it to win with an all-out kingside storm attack)
2...Qh4 mate

The room immediately showered me with gold pieces.

I probably could have won more quickly but I had just finished a marathon where I finished first ahead of Kenya's finest runners and I was a little tired. They were given a one hour head start.
