p.s. why would i let myself get into that position anyway, i had the upper hand.
There is a line between a) asking questions for general knowledge and b) asking questions about specific positions you have in your games [or anticipate having]. b) is unethical because it amounts to letting others play the game for you.

And you shouldn't blame others - they are not obligated to do a search on your games before replying.

Now, see? Not as frightening as you projected, was it? Just conform to the rules and nobody will bother you.

to keep me from playing out an entire game, is it possible to win with a queen and two rooks? oh, and two bishops.

(this thread is too funny to end)

I just started a game where I played 1.d4
My question is - can I win even though my opponent still has a queen, king, 2 knights, 2 Bishops & 2 Rooks ??
As I intend playing Queens Gambit - Should my next move be 2.c4 ??

Oh dear! your soooo NOT supposed to ask what your next move should be, try using ANALYSE BOARD that should help.

Why did no one just say yes it can be done and leave him to figure out how? 😛

After all he could have won by timeout.

Analyse board! we should be using a seperate board at home so we are not cheating on site.

Why not have "answer to all your chess questions" book on site rather than do it secretly at home, be real!

Excellent, but none of these general questions can be asked while playing a game, only out side secret methods, please explain to swissgambit.

king and bishop vs. king is impossible, a draw
I have done it on an electronic board with much trial and error.....not easy but not impossible. The king has to be in just the right corner and pinned down by your king with the bishop waiting behind him.
