I have done it on an electronic board with much trial and error.....not easy but not impossible. The king has to be in just the right corner and pinned down by your king with the bishop waiting behind him.
Originally posted by odoodsdudesIt sounds as if people have sets that analyze moves for them. Mine just plays against me. It shows different openings, and some famous matches. It also has a bunch of setups where you can try to mate in two or three moves. Or you can practice mating with different pieces. But, it sure does not tell me what to do in any given situation. I have to figure that out myself.
I'm not sugesting you cheat or anyone else, but there are those that say you are soooo not to ask any general questions while playing a game but as long as you don't tell them, you can get a chess master to pretend he is you!
Originally posted by ale1552Even with the lone King on a corner square it is impossible. For example, if the King is on a1, then the superior sides King on b3 can cover a2 and b2, but the Bishop cannot cover a1 and b1 as they are different colours.
It was a long time ago, so I may be dreaming. Let me check it out again. And for anyone's information I do not cheat on my games! I play separate games on my set.
Originally posted by clandarkfireI should have kept quiet because you are absolutely right. Dumb me. I was thinking of having two bishops and trying to pin down the king. I am no expert and now everyone on this site knows it.
