Has anyone seen this fella before? http://www.randalolson.com/2014/11/02/the-evolution-of-chess-openings-and-why-gifs-make-for-bad-data-visualizations/
He has made several posts of data visualizations of various things about chess. At the bottom of the page he links to all of them. Kind of a fun but complicated one about chess openings, and another one about Magnus.
As a guy who dabbles in data visualizations myself, I'd be interested to know if the many here who more than dabble in chess already knew what this guy says accounts for Magnus's rising rating. In other words, does the cool visualization reveal anything chess folks didn't already know?
