I agree that the person's supposed background would be inconsistent with playing a strong game of blitz without assistance.

But I didn't see anyone on this thread suggest otherwise.

The phrase "in fact" is meant to introduce a rebuttal, but here the phrase is deceptive because you did not dispute what I wrote.

I also inferred that Venda assumed that the games in question were by correspondence. But it seemed to me that the tension between you and him could have been defused if in reply to his initial comment on this thread, you had said something like, "In case I hadn't made it clear, my game with the self-described Englishwoman was at blitz."

I don’t know about the chess snob part, or the awesome part. She definitely seems very disagreeable and argumentative. According to her rather interesting profile, she hasn’t played chess at RHP in over 3000 days...but she sure posts a lot.

I like her.
