User 86517 This is an absolute disaster, and the worst part is there are many more timeouts to come if he doesnt come back soon. It is a shame there is not some sort of way for clan leaders to activate their members vacation in an emergency situation like this.

It will be a major loss to the site if he does not come back, he did some fine work with the clan leagues stats and his own blog was always good for a read too.

These time outs happen from time to time for lots of people.

Could be a valid reason for them (e.g. a sickness in the family) and he will be back as soon as he can be.

I am sure he will be back, maybe he wants to get his rating to 1200 to enter some easy tournaments hehehehe 🙂

Chess is only a game for the vast majority, life is usually more important unless you are actually playing on the circuit.

Chess is only a hobby for most of us here. If you are down with the flu or a worse ailment, the last thing on one's mind is chess. School, work, family are also part of our lives.

If I was down with flu, I'd use the opportunity to spend more time studying chess.

at the same time been offline for 6 days due to ISP

So are you going to be able to ever be a 2300 again? I think you could have been even close to 2400 without these bursts of timeouts.

Does it matter? Rating is still 2000 and will rise more rapidly now against those "stronger" players.

No chance I could be 2400.
I'm far from that level and as Dragon Fire points out it's not really that important anyway...
