I dont like heavy theory lines as white. So I go for off beat stuff like the colle-zukertort. 🙂

Soltis wrote a book on the Colle-Zukertort line. I think Colle himself only played the lines with P-c3.

Sounds quite dogmatic to me. I bet you eat the same food everyday.

I suppose the opening strives to control e5, get Ne5, f4 push and a kingside attack with possible Rf3 etc. I played against it once and defanged it by contesting e5 with haste.

I am mistaken about Colle playing only the 5 c3 lines. He also sometimes played the Zukertort Line (5 b3).

The Colle is an excellent opening if you have a life and don't want to spend tons of time on openings. I recently purchased "Winning with the Colle" (revised ed.) by Ken Smith, et. al. It explains the basic ideas of the opening and has almost fifty complete games.

Among current strong players, GM Susan Polgar and IM Doug Root play it. Ms. Polgar recently made a DVD on the Colle System.

I like the sound of that with 50 games etc.
