Wow, forum search. There's about 5 KG threads where I've explained the basic (and somewhat advanced...) play behind this opening - from both sides.

Yeah, I love crushing patzers like you with the King's Gambit. Just kidding. No, on a serious note, might try the Falkbeer's Counter Gambit. Good to face the King's Gambit with that dark weapon.
