In game #4882351, the opponent's Rook had put me in check from across the board. I moved my Knight into the same column as the Rook and King thereby becoming pinned until I later moved my King. It would be an illegal move to move the Knight before the check threat from the Rook had ceased. In blocking the check, I had positioned the Knight where in other circumstances the opposing King would have been put in check. My opponent and I are disputing as to whether his King was in check, or because the Knight was pinned, his King was not compelled to move.

What do the rules of chess say? Does RHP comply with such rules?

Yes, he was legally in check and there's no wiggle-room allowed. Basically, if he didn't move, you would take his king and game over. That, of course, is not allowed in chess, so he must move.

Yes, it's a legal move.(If it were an illegal move it would not let you do it.

What is NOT legal is when you post comments about a game when it's not finished yet.
Just my 2 cents.

He's only asking what the rules are. Surely you're allowed to do that? You're certainly allowed to ask the arbiter what the rules say in the middle of a world championship match game - it's been done!

Your 13th move was perfectly legal and on move 14 you could have moved your Knight if you had so wished as moving it would not have put you in check as his King now blocked his Rook.

RHP will not allow you to make illegal moves.

and I don't see any problem asking about the rules of chess as in this game as you were not asking for assistance on the game just clarification of the rules.
