I'm looking for a means of inputting my completed games into a database and have them stored based on unique openings. Where I can say, "Show me all the games where I'm white and the opening is 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e6" and get a list back showing all those games so I can review where my weaknesses/strengths are and see where I went wrong and what I did right.

I only have Chessmaster, and I know it doesn't do this. Any other software out there available to do this? Thanks!

Naturally F9 etc will do this. Iv heard that Chessbase9 will even analysis your games and offer you an opening repertoire, although you will have to confirm this independently since I dont have CB9.

Oh, okay. So the latest version of Fritz will do this for me. Thanks Bedlam 🙂

ChessBase will do this better than anything else, except Chess Assistant, which does it equally well. They both have light versions that you can download for free.

While I have not used it, nor Own it, I suggest you look at a program called "book-up" -- that may also do the things you want it to do.

Any chessbase product, either chessbase database itself, or any of their new engines, Fritz et al will do this for you...

The free program, Chesspad, allows you to search your games by making the moves of the opening you wish to find.

If that's all you want it to do, the free versions of Chessbase and Chess Assistant are probably best.
