I've played this opening as Black a few times. I don't know openings. Does it have a name? It starts as the Sicilian but I don't know more than the basic first 2 moves

If not, I'm calling it the Canadian Counter variation 😉Game 2873621

Blacks C7 is the key

it is the sicillian, and supposedly trading the knights there is a bad move... I don't know that variation! I LIKE THE NAME THOUGH!

it looks interesting

I was trying to come up with my own opening that I could name after canada too... all I had was 1.e4 f5? 2.exf5 d5 3.Qh5+ g7 4.fxg7 Nf6 and I was gonna call it The Canada Gambit but I think there are some combos for white so its probably a bad gambit.

I searched through an absolutely ginormous list of opening names and nothing was given for the move 4...Nxd4. It's the first time I haven't been able to pull up an opening in the list, so it must be trash. 😛
