Recently I have played some most consistent improved chess, I was seeing more tactics and playing what I feel is better chess. Recently (like last week) my chess has become rubbish im dropping pieces left right and centre missing basic tactics and when it comes to PCT puzzles spending hours looking at them and convincing myself that I have found the best line just to realise I have missed a mate in one! I realise that part of this is because im playing new opening lines and I haven’t got my head around the pitfalls and reply traps but I mean more simple things like seeing pins double attacks and the such. Im just wondering if anyone else has this where there chess brain decides to go away for a few weeks?🙄

You are going through a bad spell - it happens - you will have to
play you way through it. Chin up and don't lose confidence.

I get a feeling my brain is on a vacation too. Just lost an equal (or slightly inferior) game due to a complete blunder, and I'm probably losing another one in a few moves. 🙁

When my form goes "Tit's up" in genral I leave a 64 square board alone for a good few day's, sometimes even 7 day's in a row, although chess being the only thing keeping me from grotting my wife,it's not very often.

I'm in the midst of a major crap streak right now...Something like 5 losses in a row here and my OTB has stunk as well.
I feel like I'm just not seeing things at my best- been making moves without even considering what my opponent has just done. I'm seriously close to resigning all games in progress (thankfully down to only 4), taking a break, doing some studying, and coming back refreshed.

At least at an RHP rating of 1502 I don't have to worry about fleeing to Iceland, drowning my sorrows in liquor, or developing strange social phobias and conspiracy theories when things go bad at the board!

Going through a crap spell right now. Steady as I go.....down...down...down. I think I've turned the corner though.... or at least I've stemmed the bleeding.

It was a nice game though. Lots of tactical threats and you defended well until that last move.

at that time I saw some thread about that opening, and someone was saying that white will get some strategical advantage and will keep black under pressure all the time, with not many tactics, and I was about to give as example that game about how tactical a game can become after I probably blundered(no idea yet where, I did not check that game), but the game was still in progress, so I gave up...

Yeah, I remember that thread. I wanted to post the game there, but gave up after the last move; it wouldn't be fair to you, since you played well until that point. I know I wouldn't like it if someone posted a game where I blundered.

As for the game, I think you should've played Ne6 at some point. Even if you lost the e6 pawn later, it would open lines for you and keep me under pressure.
