Yes sorry 15 c3 let the knight in, and began my troubles. The game was not over yet, but I went astray worrying about the wrong thing (a hanging knight) instead of the most important thing - (getting mated)
1.e4 c5 {sicilian defense} 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 g6 {st40 is going for a dragon formation} 6.Be3 Bg7 7.Qd2 {this is the second most played move that I can see for RHP database - maybe not the best though} Ng4 8.Bg5 h6 9.Bh4 Nc6 10.Nxc6 {Usually this N is left there, but I was in the mood to chop him} bxc6 11.Bc4 Ne5 {moving forward with tempo} 12.Bb3 Ba6 {stopping the kingside castle} 13.Nd1 {? this is already bad - should have just castled on the queenside - I'm worried about black pieces especially the knight coming to c4 hitting the Queen} Qb6 14.Ne3 Qc5 {adding power to the c4 attack} 15.c3 {I am worried about the wonderful coordination of the black pieces - this move was to stop the bishop on g7 from smashing in at the end of various lines} Rb8 {st40 forgot to check all checks, but really has the luxury of developing another piece} 16.f3 Nd3+ {ouch} 17.Kd1 Nxb2+ {and now I make a second mistake I should play Kc2 and fight on for a little while at least, but no} 18.Qxb2 Bxc3 19.Qc1 {??trying to defend the N and the R} Qd4+ { and now either Qd2 Qxd2 # or Kc2 and Qc3#} 0-1
Hey I've played a game thats made it on to the forum....
I was following a database until you went out of it with Nd1 when my dbase had 0-0-0 for you. You are right with your comments post that move, my Rb8 was played without a lot of thought as it seemed logical and I think we were both online at this time, whilst I was waiting on a response from you I was looking at the position and saw Nd3+ which was pretty crushing
Qd2 before f3 in my opinion is bad as I liked the book position I got after it. Usually f3 is played before Qd2
