Sorry for not watching the forums but when did rhp do the consecutive move to a draw rule? I know it has not happened to me in the past .

It has to be claimed by either u or your opponent.

The Claim draw button only becomes usable under draw conditions. You had your opponents queen, so he played for the draw and when you made the 3 consecutive moves, he just claimed it. No need to ask you anything.

That was my queen and I was never asked.

When your opponent made his final move he repeated the same position 3 times. That means either player can claim a draw. He did so.
Anyway what are you complaining about? He's rated higher than you. Wouldn't you gain rating points?

Ragnorak's point was that his queen was trapped, the best your opponent could hope was indeed a draw. I would have played the same.

Yes, it was a perfectly valid claim. If the same position occurs 3 times (doesn't even have to be consecutive) and one of the players notice then he/she can claim a draw in an OTB game and his/her opponent cannot refuse because it is a valid draw. Therefore it would be pointless "asking" if your opponent wanted to draw. I don't know if RHP can detect if the same position has occured before when they are not consecutive though.

Yes, RHP can detect the 3-fold repition, even when its not consecutive.
You still have to claim it though.

I think there's been a little bit of confusion. It was Dinc's queen that was trapped, not his opponents. Nevertheless it looks as though your opponent saw the chance to force a draw and given that he's beaten you in the other game in that group and you've dropped points elsewhere that's probably a wise way to make sure he progresses.

Unfortunately you'll just have to make sure you don't allow opponents to force a on you in future.

Well then you shouldn't have reached a position where he can force 3 move repetition.

Oh please the opponent had a higher rating, does that mean that anyone in a tournament that only needs a draw to move on will make a dozen opening moves then try to get a draw.play the game until you have no choice and it is agreable to both players that it is a draw.

However morally wrong you think it is for your opponent to claim a draw after the three repetitions of position, it is perfectly legal.

End of story 🙂
