If you want to play "I am nice" yes, if you want to play chess no. A draw should be accepted only when you feel the position is equal. Everything else is an insult to the game.

If you really have him in two and he offered a draw knowing this, he's a poor sport IMO and you should just finish him off and not play him again. Draws are given in chess when neither side believes it has a reasonable chance of winning not has favors to be bestowed to be "nice"; you are not doing anybody a favor by not doing your best. Would you deliberately lose your Queen to be "nice"?

Maybe in an OTB game, and she was really hot.. and she was showing interest in knowing my hotel room number.

Draw? yes or no. "Is this nice" is a nonsequitur. ( A fine word I remember from an old Star Trek episode.

Reminds me of a recent game I had with a higher rated player. Close game...perhaps with him a bit ahead....and I thought I had a perpetual check situation.

So I offered a draw due to perpetual check. I did so for something like 3 or 4 consecutive moves (all checks of course). He finally replied back with kind of a smart alek remark that it wasn't perpetual check no matter how many times I said it was.

Then proceeded to prove me wrong...by making a bad move that stopped the checking...but gave me the game in about 10 more moves. Right before then end he offered a draw due to the game being unwinnable by either of us.

Uh...right before I took his rook outright in a queen for queen+rook forced trade.

I couldn't tell if he saw it and hoped I didn't....or was just showing disrespect or not. I suspect the latter.

I'm like...well yeah I was wrong about perpetual check dude....but it wasn't like I thought you'd offer me the game instead 🙂

This seems highly unlikely.

Yeah, if she promised to finish me off, I surely wouldn't finish her off 😀

talking about dranw, maybe u can be interested to send and to see interesting drawn games? Here is one, only 15 moves: Game 880114 Unusual openings, i didn't react the best, and had no beter choice then to force a drawn by eternal checks.
