thats my m.o. also, do you find it difficult to play this way? I prefer to sperate my black and white openings so as to get a firm grip or mindset on which color im playing with
I just look at the color I am playing, then the move that is made by the other color. Then I try to play the best move.

Try d4, e4, c4, f4 g3, anything. What the hey! All that can happen, is you lose. It's not the end of the world.

I read that you should have fun playing chess. The story is too long to tell, but it was stated by Bronstein. He played in a local chess club that had low rated players. He could have crushed their King and their spirits, but he just played them some fun games. I am considering playing some fun games. F4 is one of the fun openings I am looking at. I have already played 2. Ne2 then 3. f4. I might even play 1. d4 sometime. Try f4. You might like it.
Crushing Kings and spirits IS fun, sir! 🙄

I guess you are the kind of player that went into the beginner area in EverQuest's no rules server with your level 50 character and started player killing level one pluss players.

I have no idea what you just said, but sure. 😵 And I try not to start games with anyone who I KNOW will more or less have no chance against me, but playing someone you're equally rated with (or rated higher than you, for that matter!) and completely destroying their army beyond revival is one of the joys of chess. 😀 I hope I'm not alone on that.

I prefer to play Nf3, followed by e4 or d4 depending on what black plays 😉

1.e4 and 1.d4 are probably the strongest moves, but others have the advantage of possibly taking the opponent quickly into relatively unknown territory.
