Does anyone on this site actually earn a living playing chess? I just had a look at the FIDE prizes for April and there seems to be some quite good money in it if you're good. Just curious as to whether anyone on here is at that level?

If you read some peoples profiles they tell you what they are but i dont know their real names.

In my opinion you should be at least strong IM to play chess and earn enough for living.

Of course you can be also only FM and write books like Eric Schiller does 😛

... but you need to take what people say in their profiles with caution as they could be anyone or anything.
