In a recent game with cludi Game 1324556 the following endgame position ocurred:
cludi proceeded 60.b7? and the board was quickly drawn (60.b7? Be2+ 61.Kc5 Ka7 62.Kc6 Ba6 ... ==).
My 1st reaction was that cludi blew a win, but after doing some analysis I'm not so sure. A better start for me looks to be 60.Bd3 Bf3 61.Kb4+ Kb7 62.Bf1 (otherwise h3) Kc6 giving the position:
which is starting to look rather draw-ish.
Can anyone do better?
cheers,
Brett

How so. On the next move(had it continued) it would have been h3h2 threatening promotion. To answer this, white would have to play Bc8b7, with the end result of stalemate.
2. Bb7 h1Q
3. Bxh1 Ka6
and 4. ...Kxa5
1/2-1/2
methinks
don't see how the end result can be stalemate.
Well, anyways, white's last move was not so good, IMHO.
But it's a draw anyways, can't stand these puzzles, always think there must be something there to win, hence the nature of puzzles. Seems like Brett is just toying with us, his multiple posts just further add to the general confusion he's trying to promote. Kind of funny, really.
