Tell the other player that is what you will do, and offer them the draw, or keep doing it for 50 moves!

I'd imagine you'd get a "claim draw" button after the draw was official...maybe position repeated 3 times, or at worst 50 moves?

You always have the claim draw button, but it won't work unless there's some reason that it's a draw in the rules.

This doesn't strike me as something that will go on forever.

Think about it.

Eternal Check?? You mean this game is being played into eternity?

well, theoratically this game can be played till eternity, thats one of the reasons people came up with the 50 moves rule.
However, in any tournament, competition etc... in regular chess one has the possibility to claim a draw via "eternal check", just by proving you can keep doing this forever.

For a situation like that I'd just offer a draw. That pretty much amounts to telling your opponent you're not going to make any effort to win. If they think they can force a win they'll continue, otherwise they will accept. You can claim a draw after a third repetition of a position by ticking the claim draw box when the move that leads to the third repetition is made (bear in mind that the person to move must be the same for each three occurences of the board configuration). Failing that you can claim a draw after 50 moves without a pawn move or capture, there's a counter on the screen for this, again just check the claim draw box. Hopefully if it really is a drawn position your opponent will just realise this though.

thats the problem here, since my opponent is suddenly playing a lot stronger than 3 weeks ago, he was very very sure he would beat me. Unfortunately, engines do not warn for things like this.
have offered draw several times already and he keeps playing, pure frustration I guess.......

Do you suffer from chronic diarrhoea, "Sir Loosalot"?

Actually, once a game position repeats itself three times (not necessarily consecutively), three-fold repetition applies. Hopefully, this same rule applies on red hot pawn. If the squares never repeat themselves, you'll have to settle for 50 moves.

I have had the trots lately. What do you use for a remedy?
