What is your opinion on this opening?(1.e5 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5 4.b4) I have adopted it on occasion, and when I won it was conclusive, and when I lost, likewise. I was just wondering what the general opinion is on it.
Originally posted by XanthosNZI agree with XanthosNZ. you can work up a pretty strong attack with the Evans, but you have to immediately capitalize on your early advantages. otherwise, the tide turns on you and the endgame becomes a painful ordeal.
I used to play it and had reasonable success especially OTB. One thing you have to be careful of is not following through. You can't play the Evan's and expect to win in the endgame.
