But black loses a pawn and weakens his position for no compensation. that's enough to lose.
7.Be2 Bf5 8.Nd4 which seems pretty logical to me. I admit that blacks position is not very good, but I don't see the pawn loss here... But maybe I didn't analyse it good enough
edit: didn't read your post already, but how does your position goes further... 4. ...g6 5. Nxg6 Qxe4+ 6. Be2 Qxg6 ?
