Hi all. I just joined this site today, and have started two games from which my opponents have both stopped moving after about 10-20 moves. I realize now that this is that kind of site, where people might play one move a day. I found it a bit strange that neither of them responed to very simple and friendly "hello" messages that I sent, but, whatever. Can anyone recommend a free site with a bit more pace about the gameplay?
Cheers.

I would inform you that this site has thousands of members, so lets not lump us all in one big group of unfriendliness. id also like to inform you that along with our chess playing habits we also have jobs, friends, family, etc. and cant move every other minute. good luck and thank yo for flying RHP.
enjoy your tenure.

It looks like Raszputin User 174120 is a bit of an oddity. 277 games in progress, no clan or tournament games.
Well. I wasn't naming any names, or trying to start a witch-hunt... but now you've got the ball rolling - (Do you work for the CIA?)
RA RA RASPUTIN
Lover of the Russian queen
There was a cat that really was gone
RA RA RASPUTIN
Russia's greatest love machine
It was a shame how he carried on
Right then. I think I've caused maximum damage with that post. I'll get my coat.

God, I've always hated that song.

And some just forget to message you back (a message should have been entered before you make your move). Most people up here are friendly enough to communicate. You just had bad luck with your current opponents.

Thanks, Checkmate. Say hi to your Hot Love Monkey for me too. Buffalobill - you're too kind. I lowered the tone of the site - if not the whole chess world - by way more than 10 points. The song stinks but will live on forever for it's comic value, and as a way to taunt anyone who uses that name.
Meanwhile... I've joined uchess. It's like frickin CRACK! I played two games, was reduced to a panicing frightened little girl and got hammered. Great fun. And I thought online poker was edgy.
