I agree with u ... just one or two defenses its enough ... its better to learn other aspects of this game than try to learn too much openings

as black, i love to play against a queens gambit (declined), it gives fun attacking chances through the queenside and good center chances

As white....well... I like english danish and anything 1 e4 2 Nf3

I probably forgot some others, as well.

The point is that there is no Russian Opening and I doubt anyone would argue that the Russians deserve an opening more than the english, french, dutch, danish, italians, sicilians, or spanish, etc.

We should rename the Caro-Kann the Russian Defense.
