I've been facing the Fried Liver Attack a fair amount lately. I survived this game, but suspect that my opponent missed a chance or two to crush my defenses.

Any one have a good plan against the Fried Liver Attack?

Here's a game where Fritz8 (a computer program) is playing Feivel ( a very high rated player on this site). It's a Fried Liver attack. Fritz included the onions and gravy and now Feivel's asking for mashed potatoes and a biscuit.

A very instructive game.

11...Bd6 did not address black's biggest problem in that position, the pin on the knight. The Na6 and Bd6 are both standing around watching the pinned knight. 11....Nc7 was much better adding an extra defender to the knight.

The response to Bd6 could have been

12.Nxd5 cxd5 13.Qxd5+ Kd7 14.dxe5 Qe7 15.Bb5+ Kc7 16.Qxd6+ Qxd6 17.exd6+ Kxd6 18.Bf4+

And the king is a sitting duck in the center of the board. Running from a O-O-O- and Rhe1 coming up...
