I've beaten Fritz 8 at full strengh? Chess computers can be beaten still. People show them too much respect.

People who can beat Fritz or Shredder, even at very limited time settings for the program, are either very strong expert level and above, or they did it by taking back a lot of moves and using the "hint" button more times than they care to remember.
I've got Fritz 7, at 5 seconds/move it tears me up, I've never come close to beating it.

    try unorthodoz openings.

playing classical against a computer is asking for a loss.

I don't think that Fritz or Chessmaster cares about openings ( even unortodox ones ), it's all about calcultions and renderings. Or, if not than the computer or software is broken.

I play chess computers 1 minute to 5 all the time. They still win like 20 to 1 all the time, but I can still take comes off them.

One minutes is mighty fast, good job if you beat Fritz. How do you do if you allow it to think for a few seconds per move, like 5 or so?

In those 1 min games, do you win by checkmate or time loss?
