My Fritz 8 gives Nxf7 a ? in its opening book.
Yup I think you're right. No strong OTB players take on d5 though, so it is a bit of a side-line.

No. I'll play c6, instead of eating the rook, and after move your rook away I'll play Nd5.

Despite the fact that your 8.......Ncb4 is bad because you're hoping that Fritz8 would fall in a silly knight fork K+R a move later, you forgot to type Black's ninth move, which I suppose it's Nxc2+..............😕

Ok, I've become so engrossed in this man vs machine battle I actually spent some time studying and researching.

I can't believe it, but black is perfectly fine here! White has no way of continuing a serious attack. 9.d4 means nothing here. And i see nothing else that is forcing enough to hurt black.

On the other hand I looked at this after working all day and I'm halfway watching TV while I'm doing it, so all of this could be bunk.

Sure seems like there are a lot of Black players. Perhaps White should tip his King.

Why would white play 9.Qe4? Better is 9.a3,sac the rook for a knight, white gets that rook back,or gets enough compensation otherwise.Well, when I play black anyways 🙂

After 8...Ncb4 then 9.a3. Where did you get the idea of 9.Qe4 c6 from?

How will you play your Nc2-d5 when there is already a knight there and last time I check a knight could not make a hypermove? If you mean d4 then you will lose very easily. Remember that White does not have to waste time moving his rook from a1.

Yeah but think of the programers here, and thier families they're trying to feed by designing superior software. It does'nt look good if you just tear it asunder. Have you no heart man?:'(
