In this line 9. exd5 Nd4 10.d6 is not mentioned. I think Black is OK after cxd6 but the position is very complicated and you would need plenty of time to get to the bottom of it. I wonder how much of the Zaitsev game was home preparation and how much was seen at the board.

I'd think a lot of it was home prep.. it's really hard to understand this line WITH an engine.. without it it's pretty much impossible (though I did find that one cool move without the engine..).

If they are GMs then they probably could find it over the board but being GMs it would probably be home prep.
