Shows ... what I know. That took exactly three seconds for me to be proved wrong.

This looks like it's going to be interesting!

a friend of mine always says "you missed an exchange there" when we blitz, and I always respond "I never take it, it's just too dangerous". this one's gonna be a hachet job.

Topo is up for this one. I'm looking at now after 15...Bh3.

Can he let the Knight on d5 go? Or is that too much?

I've guessed right with the last four moves. Now does he sac the d5 Knight?

Vishy took the rook very quickly but clearly has been outprepared by Topalov. It looks scary for White ... but then that's why I wouldn't have taken the rook. I think we can assume that Anand has a better understanding of the material v development balance than me.

The trouble is even if he can find his way through the complications and come out with a theoretical plus he could be so far behind on time that he won't be able to exploit it. I suspect we're going deep into Toppy's notebook today.

Topo 1.57 Vishy 1.20 at time of post.

Does he move the f1 Rook or take on d5?

I'm watching it on there. I cannot get any sound - is that normal?

interesting, I did not see why he would not take the N...
now I see, after some clarifications, black has about 2 central pawns for a piece

... and a potentially very big passed pawn, an exposed white king with his own very safe and not to mention an hour lead on the clock.

2 good pawns for a Knight - the game is still in the pot.
(though material wise it is just one pawn for a Knight)

If it gets too messy Vishy can sac back a piece for the pawn(s).

Have to go out now. Gut feel for Vishy, think Black needs a mistake to
get in from here (move 20).

Half way to the time controll and Anand has used almost 1h, while Topalov has only spent 5min:

    1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 d5 4.g3 Bb4+ 5.Bd2 Be7 6.Bg2 O-O 7.O-O c6 8.Bf4 dxc4 9.Ne5 b5 10.Nxc6 Nxc6 11.Bxc6 Bd7!? 12.Bxa8 Qxa8 13.f3 Nd5 14.Bd2 e5 15.e4 Bh3 16.exd5 Bxf1 17.Qxf1 exd4 18.a4 Qxd5 19.axb5 Qxb5 20.Rxa7 Re8

How deep is Topalov's home prep really?
