I just finished watching this, gary lost his 6th game to deep blue and the computer was still using book moves. If Gary Kasparov can lose to a database it just shows how much advantage a db is.
Without a doubt gary is the worlds best player ever, which shows having a pre-written battle plan or in this case every plan known and invented by man is a huge advantage.

I'd really question if Kaspy is the greatest player ever....... One of the best no doubt. Not to mention chess is growing.... there will always be someone that replaces the legandary Kasporav,.

One could argue that this shows he simply gave up, following his mistrust of the IBM team and subsequent frustration.

Please limit your insipid database theory to one thread, CentreNut; I am developing an eye tick.

You remind me of a basketballer who refuses to use his hands and only bounces the ball with his head, and then calls everyone else cheaters cos they use their hands.

Play the game according to the rules. If you want to give yourself a disadvantage by not playing by the rules, then correspondence chess players should be calling you an idi ot instead of you calling them cheats.
