The slightly annoying thing from my respective was that I'd resigned the other game just a couple of days or so before his removal!
Who has the game with the most number of moves?

Short of a blunder I presume there was no way to win the game.
Originally posted by Dragon FireYou're right, there is no way to win that endgame. I suppose I played on because I was so annoyed that he was clearly using an engine programmed to play certain endgames perfectly. No human would ever voluntarily give up an exchange as Meman did (63...Qxd6) to reach the endgame Q v Q + a+b pawns. This endgame was considered an easy win for the stronger side until a few years ago when it was reassessed (I think by John Nunn with silicon assistance) as drawn in most instances. However, it needs perfect play from the weaker side. Any human player would much rather have the exchange in hand, but presumably that piece configuration (Q + R v Q + N + a+b pawns) wasn't in the engine's tablebase.

was it trains vs. bowman that had the ridiculous "engine trying to mate a drawn ending" which lasted something like 150 moves?
it now appears it wasn't them, as I remember it had a knight hopping around the corner in a futile attempt to mate, and bowmann doesn't have such a game. but they do have 157 moves long one, with a quite silly ending as well. Game 1120321
Originally posted by Northern LadI was just curious, why didn't you play Qc4 on move 121 and trade queens? If Kb8, a check on the back rank forces a trade, doesn't it?

Originally posted by wormwoodThat was the stupidest game I have ever seen! 20 moves with king vs. king!

Originally posted by wormwoodI don't even understand the premise behind that. The game was drawn after Move 114 but played on with just two kings until Move 157. Furthermore, even if the entire process was automated between two engines, why didn't the RHP software end the game automatically as soon as it became a technical draw?
