My games have just gone up to 74 with a new tournament started.
Its too many and I no longer have any time to look at my books and do research so I am simply blitzing them but cannot get the game load down.
I am certain my standard of play has declined dramatically.
What I won't do is blitz the harder games but rather than move in these daily (which I like to do) they will wait 3 - 7 days while I win the "easy" ones.

Sounds familiar.
You will have some nice hills on your graph then.
Lots of wins at once, then the few loses will follow all at once.
You still playing at the chess club? Seen any improvement from playing on Rhp and then playing OTB especially in the openings?

Thats the way it works. You play 22 games against opponents rated 200-600 below you and score 20 wins gaining 1 or 2 points each time for +30 then 2 draws for -36 or, heaven forbid, a loss and a draw for -50. It happens all the time.
The trick is to take those wins but when the going gets tough slow down (in those games).

Yes I heard about that.

Had a win with a Ruy Lopez Open (as black) against a player graded 2050, a couple of solid wins with KGA against 1850 opposition and a few good draws with my Benonis against 2000 opponents but the best was a Grob victory against a 2175.
Most other games were lines I had not been practising a lot here.
It will be interesting where by grade goes when the next rating list comes out but I expect it to be about 1900 which is a small but not significant improvement. Trouble is I don't play enough rated games OTB so changes happen very slowly.
