I was recently at a club round robin and was holding my own against one of the best players in your group. His name is John. A wise old professor type. We were slugging it out in a tough congested. The old man loves his Kings Indian Defense and I am trying to fortify an indestructable pawn center. After about 20 moves of dancing around each other, I make an aggressive queen advance in hopes of creating a small crack, Soon as I make the move, John grabs the knight I have left hanging in the wave of my overaggressive queen. The center and the game was slowly but surely falling apart. After the game he gave me these words of advice.

"Don't mount an attack with only one piece. Be patient and wait."

For those overly aggressive players, like me, words to digest.
